No mud, no mess

This Sunday April 27, 2014. The Riverside Slopfest will have a farwell gathering.  However there will not be any muddy mess to clean up!  Riverside Church has officially sold the property that housed Slopfest for 15 wonderful years in Sterling VA.  The farewell to will take place in the parkinglot of Riverside Church off of Ridgetop Circle in Sterling.  The event will include live music, games, inflatables, food, volleyball, cotton candy, pictures, awards from years past and more!  it will be a celebration of Slopfest and everything it was in our community!

Though it is sad to end this chapter it is excited to see what will be coming next!

We are even more excited that Riverside Slopfest has encourged other groups to begin something on their own!  Stay tuned as we share links for other Slopfest events around the area and country!

See you Sunday!

March 1, 2014

What a ride it has been!  16 amazing years of muddy messy chaos!  Slopfest has become an end of the school year tradition!  As many of you already know, the legacy of Slopfest is coming to an end.  The sale of the Riverside Church property has left this amazing event homeless!  However as one door closes a NEW door opens!  This April 27th as we say goodbye to Slopfest we will be exploring the opportunity of a new Family Festival.

This April 27th 2014 in the Riverside Church parking lot off of Ridgetop Circle we will be having the Slopfest Closing Ceremonies (for the whole family) ~including food, volleyball, live music, games, laser tag, interative chutes and ladders (for our younger crew), inflatable obstacle course challenge, did i say food?  ~and more!

Join us as we say 'good-bye' share memories, photos, give out awards from Slopfest!  And hopefully emerge with something new and different!  Checkout for more information (under event registration)

'Sweet16' a success

What an amazing day we had on June 7, 2013! Slopfest 16 was preceeded by a 48 hour rain storm. The storm forced a 30 minute delay in the start of Slopfest but increased the mud!  It was the messiest event in the 16 year history!  Thank you to all our volunteers who came out to help!  Thank you to Sterling Volunteer Fire Department for hosing everyone off! and a great big thankyou to all the parents and participants that joined us for the event!

One Week Countdown

We are down to ONE WEEK before Slopfest 'Sweet-16' kicks off!  It has been an awesome few months of planning, Spirit Nights, registering students, organizing leaders, purchasing for games, prepping the property, preparing the Crud War items and talking about 'What is Slopfest?'.  We are almost there!  A lot to do in the next 7 days but we are excited for this week and for another amazing opportunity for the community to pull together and hear a very simple message.... No matter how messy you get in life, God will always love you.  See you on June 7th 2013.
